The Writer - Sean Street
Sean Street's plays have been widely performed. In
1985 he dramatised W H Hudson's classic "A Shepherd's
Life" for Salisbury Playhouse, with Christopher
Robbie as Shepherd Caleb Bawcombe.
Christopher also appeared in Sean Street's "Film
for Radio", "Procession to the Private Sector"
which received critical praise for its production on
Radio 3 with Simon Callow as The Camera. Sean's other
radio work includes "The Drift of Time", a
drama-feature for Radio 4 based on the writings of Richard
Jefferies, in which the late Robert Stephens played
Jefferies.
In 1993 his play, "Honest John", premiered
by the Royal Theatre, Northampton, won the Central Television
Drama Award. Among Sean Street's books are "The
Wreck of the Deutschland", "The Dymock Poets"
and five collections of poetry.
